What's up with so many people at odds with each other of late. People who claim to be Christians. People who will quote scripture at you and turn around and gossip about you or a situation concerning you.
The scary thing is that now more than ever Christians need to unite and serve Christ. Instead we are letting worldly issues come between us. What's up with that? Can't we see the forest for the trees? That is exactly what the enemy would have us do. In some cases it makes me wonder about the proclamation of their salvation, (not all but some).
Colossians 3:12-17(NIV) teaches us this:
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you and over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Don't tell me you are a Christian and talk behind my back. Don't tell me you love me and hurt me to the very quick. Don't drag my Savior into pettiness for your own gain. Why would you, how could you as a Christian? I mean what's up with that?
